Currently awaiting the defense of his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Bruno specializes in deep learning solutions for analysing and forecasting human activity. He brings critical expertise in artificial intelligence methodologies, playing a pivotal role in developing the project’s algorithmics. His primary contribution ties with the design and implementation of deep learning models that serve as the backend for cobot behavioral and structural adaptability, leveraging his strong background in human activity analysis to ensure a successful outcome.
The quality of Bruno’s work is evident through his extensive scientific output, with multiple publications in high-impact journals and conferences, as well as his dedication to advancing the field of AI. His disciplined approach to research, which combines an epistemological foundation with creative ideation and structured execution, is particularly suited to the demands of AI development. This combination of creativity and organized thinking ensures he will be a valuable asset to the project team.
Besides CoDRI, Bruno has also been an active researcher in the Immersive Systems and Sensory Stimulation Lab (IS3L) at the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR), Coimbra, since 2019. His main research interests include estimation of body pose, analysis of human motion, forecast of human behaviors for action anticipation, and immersive technologies for therapeutic rehabilitation.
